This Top 10 List will show you the leaders of motorcycle manufacturing industry. Nowadays, besides car business, bike manufacturing has become a large sector among all businesses. It is now a very competitive business. Now here is the Top 10 List of Bike Manufacturers.

1. Honda: Honda Motor Company, Ltd. is now the leader of bike manufacturing industry. Science 1959 has been world’s largest motorcycle manufacturing company. It is the world’s biggest manufacturer of the internal combustion engines. Every year Honda produces over 14 million combustion engines Besides automobile it also manufactures marine engines, garden equipments personal watercraft etc. It is in the first position in the Top 10 List of Bike Manufacturers.

2. Yamaha: Yamaha Motor Company Limited is a part of Yamaha Corporation. It is headquartered in Iwata, Shizuoka. This company started to produce vehicles in 1955. Its first bike was YA-1, which had a 125cc engine. Now Yamaha produces bikes from 50 to 1900cc. This company is in the second position in the Top 10 List of Bike Manufacturers.

3. Kawasaki: This brand of bikes is produced by Motorcycle & Engine division of the Kawasaki Heavy Industries. It is producing bikes since 1954. It has its manufacturing plants in USA, Japan, Thailand, Philippines, and Indonesia. This manufacturer is now a very popular brand of on-road and off-road bikes. This company is in the third position in the Top 10 List of Bike Manufacturers.

4. Harley-Davidson: It is an American Bike manufacturer. It was founded during the first decade of 20th century in Wisconsin. This is one of the two American manufacturers who is surviving in the competition with Japanese manufacturers. It has the tradition of producing chopper style and heavily customized bikes. This company is in the fourth position in the Top 10 List of Bike Manufacturers.

5. Suzuki: Suzuki Motor Corporation is a Japanese manufacturer headquartered in Hamamatsu, Japan. It is Japan’s second largest automobile manufacturer and fourth largest company in the world. It started to produce bikes 1952. It was mainly a motorized bicycle. Now it produces wide range of powerful and stylish bikes. This company is in the fifth position in the Top 10 List of Bike Manufacturers.

6. BMW: BMW is an automobile, engine and motorcycle manufacturing company of German. It was founded in 1916. This company started to produce bikes after the World War I. Failing after making Helios and Flink, the R32 was the first success in 1923. Recently in July 2007, BMW parched the Italian Husqvarna Motorcycles. BMW is in the sixth position in the Top 10 List of Bike Manufacturers.

7. Ducati: Ducati Motor Holding Company is headquartered in Bologna, Italy. This company produces bikes for both motorcycle racing and road use. Three brothers Marcello, Adriano and Bruno Ducati founded first Ducati in 1926. It was then used to produce vacuum tubes, radio components and condensers. This company is in the seventh position in the Top 10 List of Bike Manufacturers.

8. KTM: KTM Sportmotorcycle is an American manufacturer of bicycle, motorcycle and moped.  In 1934, Hans Trunkenpolz founded this company in Mattighofen. It started to produce motorcycles in 1954. This company is known for off-road bikes but in recent years, it is is producing on-road bikes. This company is in the eighth position in the Top 10 List of Bike Manufacturers.

9. Aprilia: This Italian bike manufacturer is owned by Piaggio. It was founded in 1945 and headquartered in Noale. It is the fourth largest bike manufacturer in the world. At first, it started as a manufacturer of scooter. Now it is popular for its race winning sports bikes. This company is in the ninth position in the Top 10 List of Bike Manufacturers.

10. Buell: Buell Motorcycle Company of America was founded in 1983 by Erik Buell. He was ex-engineer of Harley-Davidson. In 1993, Harley-Davidson owned its 49% share and in 2003 it was fully owned by Harley-Davidson. Production of this brand was stopped in 2009 to focus on Harley-Davidson’s production. Buell is in the ninth position in the Top 10 List of Bike Manufacturers.
