1. Sony: Sony Corporation is a Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation which is commonly referred as Sony. Its headquarters is in Minato, Tokyo, Japan. Among the world’s largest media conglomerate, it is fifth (FY2010).  Sony Corporation is divided in some sectors. They are Sony Corporation, Sony Computer Entertainment, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Sony Financial Holdings and others. In 1994 Sony lunched PalyStation, in 2000 PalyStation2, in 2006 PalyStation3 and in 2009 PalyStation Portable. All of these were successful console. It is in the first position in the Top 10 List of gaming console manufacturers.

2. Nintendo Co. Ltd.: Nin10do Co. Ltd. is a multinational company located in Japan. It was founded in 1889. At first it used to make handmade hanafuda and later it tried some small business. Later Nin10do became popular Video Game Company. It became Japans third most valuable company with market value of $85 billion. It lunched popular video games like Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP, Nin10do DSi, Nin10do 3DS etc. It is in the second position in the Top 10 List of gaming console manufacturers.

3. Microsoft Corporation: Microsoft Corporation is an American multinational corporation. It is located in Redmond, Washington, USA. Microsoft develops, manufactures, supports and licenses a wide range of products related to computer. Its unique products are MS-DOS, Microsoft Windows operating systems, MS Office etc. It also became popular in video game industry by lunching Xbox and Xbox 360. It is in the third position in the Top 10 List of gaming console manufacturers.

4. Sega Corporation: Sega Corporation is a multinational company situated in Ota, Tokyo, Japan. It is mainly a developer of video game software and also develops arcade software and hardware. From 1983 to 2001 Sega manufactured and developed its own video game consoles. But from 2001 it concentrated on game software development and have the game consoles developed by other third-party manufacturers. Its game consoles are Sega Dreamcast, Sega Saturn, Mega Drive/Genesis and Sega Master System. It is in the fourth position in the Top 10 List of gaming console manufacturers.

5. Atari: In 1972 Atari was incorporated and science then it is brand name and corporate owned by a number of entities. At this time it is owned by Atari Interactive, a subsidiary of French publisher Atari, SA. The original Atari Inc. was formed by Ted Dabney and Nolan Bushnell in 1972. It was a pioneer of video games and arcade games. Its products are Pong and Atari2600. It is in the fifth position in the Top 10 List of gaming console manufacturers.

6. NEC Corporation: Before 1983 it used the name Nippon Electric Company, Limited. NEC is a multinational Japanese IT company, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, Japan. This company was a part of Sumitomo Group which is related to network solutions and IT. NEC produced Semiconductors it is among the top 20 Semiconductors in the world. Its produced gaming consoles are TurboGrafx-161987 and TurboExpress1990. It is in the sixth position in the Top 10 List of gaming console manufacturers.

7. Mattel Inc: Harold Matson and Elliot Handler founded this company in 1945. It is the biggest toy company by revenue. It produces Barbie dolls, American Girl dolls, Hot Wheels, Masters of the Universe, board games etc. In 2010 a mini flash crash appeared to Mattel shares and recovered shortly. Its produced gaming console is Intellivision. It is in the seventh position in the Top 10 List of gaming console manufacturers.

8. Panasonic Corporation: Panasonic Corporation is a multinational consumer electronics corporation formerly known as Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. It is situated in Kadoma, Osaka, Japan. After the foundation in 1918, it became the Japan’s biggest producer of electronic products along with Toshiba and Sony. By the Forbes Global 2000, it was the world’s 89th largest company in 2009. It produced 3DO Interactive Multiplayer in 1993. It is in the eighth position in the Top 10 List of gaming console manufacturers.

9. SNK Playmore Corporation: SNK Playmore Corporation is a Japanese hardware and software video game company. Eikichi Kawasaki founded SNK in 1978. In 2001 he founded the Playmore and in 2003 it became SNK Playmore. It became popular in 1990 by the Neo Geo family. It contained many arcade systems and game consoles. The last console of Neo Geo is Neo Geo Pocket Color. It is in the ninth position in the Top 10 List of gaming consol manufacturers.

10. Nokia: In October 2003 Nokia released N-Gage which is both a mobile phone and a handheld game system. It tried to lure the gamer away from Game Boy Advance but it failed. In 2007 Nokia lunched some smartphones which has capabilities to run N-Gage games. Nokia pronounced the end of N-Gage games in 2010. It is in the last position in the Top 10 List of gaming console manufacturers.
