We will now show you the Top 10 List of Metal Bands. It’s very hard task to rank them, because all most all of them are legend of Metal Songs and they have contributed to Metal History almost equally. Despite of this we have done the heard task. Of you don’t agree with us then don’t forget to give your own opinion. Here is the Top 10 List of Metal Bands.

1. Metallica: Metallica is a legend of music industry. This heavy metal band is from Los Angeles. It was first formed in 1981 when drummer Lars Ulrich posted an advertisement in a newspaper and James Hetfield responded. Now besides these two members there is lead guitarist Kirk Hammett joined in 1983 and bassist Robert Trujillo joined in 2003. There was Dave Mustaine in this Band who went and founded Megadeth. This band is in the first position in the Top 10 List of Metal Bands.

2. Iron Maiden: This heavy metal band, the pioneer of heavy metal, is from east London and founded in 1975. Steve Harris, the primary song writer and the bassist founded this band. This band became popular from 80s. They released many gold and platinum albums like The Number of the Best, Piece of Mind, Powerslaves and Live after Death. A total of 36 of its album are released. This band is in the second position in the Top 10 List of Metal Bands.

3. Megadeth: This is one of the pioneers of thrash metal of America. It is an American band and founded in 1983. The former member of Metallica founded this band with vocalist/guitarist Dave Mustaine, guitarist Greg Handevidt and bassist Dave Ellefson. This band has released total of 12 albums. In 1980s if was ranked as one of the “Big Four of Thrash”. This band is in the third position in the Top 10 List of Metal Bands.

4. System of a Down: This band, known as System or SOAD is from Southern California, founded in 1994. This band’s members are Serj Tankian (lead vocals, rhythm guitar and keyboards), Shavo Odadjian (bass, background vocals), Daron Malakian (guitar, vocals) and John Dolmayan (drums). This band is very popular because of its outspoken views that are expressed in its songs. This band is in the fourth position in the Top 10 List of Metal Bands.

5. Black Sabbath: This English band was formed in1968 in Birmingham. At the beginning the members were lead vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bass guitarist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward. After that the band goes through many changes except the constant member Tony Iommi. 22 members was once the member of Black Sabbath. In 1970s the band achieved some platinum records. This band is in the fifth position in the Top 10 List of Metal Bands

6. Rise Against: This American band is from Chicago, Illinois and was founded in 1999. The current members of the band are lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Tim McIlrath, backing vocalist and lead vocalist Zach Blair, backing vocalist and bass guitarist Joe Principe and drummer and percussion Brandon Barnes. Its album The Unraveling in 2001 and Revolutions per Minute in 2003 was very successful. This band is in the sixth position in the Top 10 List of Metal Bands

7. Disturbed: This band is from Chicago, Illinois. In 1996, when Dan Donegan, Mike Wengren and Steve “Fuzz” Kmak the musicians hired David Draiman as the vocalist. Till now this band has sold more than 13 million albums worldwide, which made it one of the biggest grossing metal bands. At present this band is going through a temporary break. It has released total of five albums. This band is in the seventh position in the Top 10 List of Metal Bands.

8. Children of Bodom: This heavy metal Finish band is from Espoo and was founded in 1993. The present members are vocalist and lead guitarist Alexi Laiho, rhythm guitarist Roope Latvala, keyboardist Janne Wirman, bassist Henkka Seppala and drummer Raatikainen. This band has released total of seven studio albums and two live albums. This band is in the eighth position in the Top 10 List of Metal Bands.

9. Slipknot: This heavy metal band is from Des Moines, lowa, formed in 1995, founded by bassist Paul Gray and percussionist Shawn Crahan. Before the death of Pawl Gray in 2010, the consistent members were Paul Gray, Sid Wilson, Joey Jordison, Jim Root, Chris Fehn, Craig Jones, Mick Thomson and Shawn Crahan. In 2011 the touring bassist will be former guitarist Donnie Steele. This band is in the ninth position in the Top 10 List of Metal Bands.

10. Lamb of God: This heavy metal band is from Virginia. It was formed in 1994. This band is consisting of guitarist Mark Morton and Willie Adler, vocalist Randy Blythe, drummer Chris Adler and bassist John Campbell. It is a member of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal. Till now it has released one live album and six studio albums. This band is in the tenth position in the Top 10 List of Metal Bands.
